"The Application of Animation Principles Existent in Traditional Character Animation to 3D Character Animation"

Shaun Marksjo-Elstob

With a history of experiments in principle, technique and method, traditional animation offers the 3D character animator a rich source of information which if applied to 3D character animation could further enliven this relatively new artform. This research proposes the study of character and character motion in traditional animation and will apply findings to 3D characters in an attempt to create fresh, vital, dynamic, emotive and convincing animation.
